What BlackHole Is
BlackHole is a video downloader that runs in your web browser at blhole.com, with an optional desktop app for Windows and Mac. It is not the Android app of the same name. This page explains the difference, and what the product actually does.
The product in one paragraph
You paste the link to a video, choose a format and quality, and BlackHole fetches the file and hands it to you. It works with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, X, Facebook, Pinterest, Bluesky, Vimeo and SoundCloud. There is nothing to install to use it — the whole thing is a web page.
Alongside the website there is BlackHole Desktop, a native program for Windows 10 and 11 and for macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel. It exists for a specific reason: downloads run on your own machine over your own connection, so they finish at full line speed, save straight to a folder you choose, and keep working when a platform is throttling our servers.
What BlackHole is not
Several unrelated pieces of software share this name. If you arrived here looking for one of them, this is the wrong site — and we would rather tell you than waste your time.
The BlackHole Android app
A separate mobile app on Google Play by another developer. Not affiliated with this site, and we cannot help with it.
BlackHole audio driver for macOS
An open-source virtual audio loopback driver by ExistentialAudio. Same name, entirely different software.
Blackhole Spliter / BlackHole Video Save
iOS App Store apps with similar names, by other publishers. No connection to blhole.com.
What it costs
The free tier is 3 downloads per day at up to 480p and needs a free account. Pro is $19.99 a year, $3.99 monthly, or $49 once for lifetime access. Pro removes the daily limit, unlocks YouTube and 4K, lifts the length cap, and includes the desktop app. There is no ad-supported tier and no bundled software.

Common questions
Is BlackHole an app I install?
BlackHole runs in your browser at blhole.com — you paste a link and download the video, with nothing to install. There is also an optional BlackHole Desktop app for Windows 10/11 and macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), included with Pro, which downloads on your own machine at your connection's full speed.
Is this the same as the BlackHole app on Google Play?
No. There is a separate Android app called BlackHole Video Downloader, published by a different developer, which is not affiliated with blhole.com. If you are looking for that app, you want the Play Store. If you want to download a video right now in your browser, or a native program for Windows or Mac, that is this site.
Do I need an Android emulator to use BlackHole on my PC?
No. BlackHole Desktop is a native Windows and macOS program with a normal installer, so there is no need for BlueStacks or any other emulator. You can also just use the website, which works on any operating system with a modern browser.
What does BlackHole cost?
The free tier gives you 3 downloads per day at up to 480p from 7 platforms, and requires a free account. Pro is $19.99 per year (or $3.99 monthly, or $49 once for lifetime access) and removes the daily limit, unlocks YouTube and 4K, lifts the video length cap, and includes the desktop app.
Which platforms does BlackHole support?
YouTube (Pro), TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, X (Twitter), Facebook, Pinterest, Bluesky, Vimeo and SoundCloud. Support changes as platforms change on their side; the individual platform pages say what currently works.
